I got my wife a Garm= in Nuvi for her car (not sure which model, 255?). Works well enough...but.= ...has no capability to plan a route. You just enter a destination...if it= s in the database. You're at the mercy of its route planning. It came wit= h lifetime traffic, which is pretty much useless. I picked up a used Garmin 2720 off of craiglist last year for $100. Its co= mpletely weatherproof and has route planning software you can use on your P= C then upload. Okay, Mapsource sucks, but you can also use Streets & Trips= and DeLorme's software and convert it to gpx. Got a ram mount adapter for= it and have it on the left handlebar of my FJR. So if you're looking to plan specific route, make sure whatever you get has= that capability. Chris P.
