I have a Garman quest1 with a ram motorcycle mount that includes the
audio output. I bought only the cradle and non of the fancy mounting
stuff. There is a diamond shaped block that is mounted to the back of
the unit. The screws are long enough to have some spare sticking
through it. I drilled the top cap and ran it all the way through the
top cap with a O-Ring on both sides of it. The o-rings helped it
isolate it from some of the vibrations. I screwed The top cap on and
the O-rings allowed for enough to then straighten it up. I had
intended to install a 2nd mount point but have never gotten around to
it in 5 years. I just have to give a tiny twist once in a while to
straighten it up.

If I am using it for directions I used to plug it into the my good
earbuds and I now plug it into my starcom1 intercom. I very seldom
look at the map but do let it talk me to were I am going. It is
limited in the maps that it can hold. The quest 2 is suppose to hold
the whole country but I have been told that it can have a little
trouble though when you have to make several turns in short order. In
order to hold all of the maps Garmin had to really compress the maps.
The feeling was that there was not enough CPU to handling the Nav and
unpacking the maps in some cases. The quest zooms itself do to the
small screen as you approach the turn point so I was happy with or I
guess should say that it worked for me.
